Five-Night
| Exploring the Mystery
Clouds
are simply the sky's changing expressions. --Dorothy Hunt Please join us in this beautiful high desert retreat setting to explore the essence and changing expressions of a Mystery we cannot name and yet is awake to each moment of our life. Silent retreat offers us the invitation to relax, be still, and listen beyond ideas to what cannot be spoken yet speaks in each moment, inviting us to come Home and live awake! Retreat offers us time for silence, reflection and stillness. It can provide an opportunity to remember our true nature, to investigate the implications of our realizations, and to explore profound dimensions of life’s wisdom and love. When we are deeply interested in knowing from our own experience what is true rather than trying to compare our experience to someone else’s or to something we have read or heard, we become open to discover what lies beyond all ideas, traditions, belief systems and hearsay. Dorothy is the author of Only This!, editor of Love: A Fruit Always in Season, and a contributing author to both The Sacred Mirror and Listening from the Heart of Silence. She resides in San Francisco with her husband of 44 years and is a mother and grandmother. For more information, you may visit her website at www.dorothyhunt.org or call (415) 567-8404. |

"Satsang with Sharon Landrith and Sacred Movement": Exploring the Truth of Our Being, through Satsang, Deep Body Awareness, and Tandava
June 24, 2011: 6:30 – 9:00 pm,
Mandala Yoga Community
(55 NW Minnesota Ave, Bend, Oregon 97701) Please allow yourself enough time to order to arrive a bit early and settle in; we will begin promptly at 6:30 pm.
Sharon Landrith, intuitive and spiritual teacher in the lineage of Adyashanti, will begin this special evening with Satsang. Satsang is a Sanskrit word which means “to be in association with Truth. “ During this portion of the evening, Sharon will point toward the Ultimate Reality through her reflections and offer answers to your questions. In addition, this intensive is designed to cultivate deep body awareness and explore awakened body through guided meditation, silent sitting, and exploration of the senses and subtle energetic body with the sacred dance, Tandava. Yuko Hashimoto, student of Sharon's and Daniel Odier, will guide the sacred movement portions of the evening.
Satsang and Sacred Movement are a natural pairing in that we explore the senses and subtle energies of the body as a portal to directly experience the boundless Ground of Being that We Are. These explorations are not only deeply nourishing and restorative, but also very effective to awaken the body and the senses. When body and mind are deeply relaxed and open without any holding, our fundamental nature effortlessly reveals itself. We can utilize this felt sense in the body as a reference while every aspect of our life begins to align itself with the recognition of Truth. Immersed in limitless expanse, we experience ourselves as this seamless reality.
Meditative Movement: In a comfortable position with gentle movement, we awaken the body through conscious breathing and awareness. As the body further relaxes, our habitual contractions and long-held blocks are revealed in a non-invasive way. These contractions are the separate sense of self. Through deep listening into the body, we begin to align with its innate wisdom. Authentic experience of the body as delight and joy, along with a profound sense of well-being, can melt away layers of fear, doubt, and any holding in the body.
Tandava- the sacred dance of Shiva: Tandava is a mystical dance practiced in the Kashmir Shaivism tradition for over five thousand years. This free form movement guides us to rediscover the original, primordial energy of the body, the cosmic vibration within. When you start to resonate with your core, the movement naturally flows.
It starts in meditative sitting position with awareness of the breath. The breath is guided to caress the pelvic floor, gently evoking a rocking motion of the pelvic and the sacrum. This awakens our core, untying and releasing tension and contractions at the base of our body. Little by little, the spine enlivens, and a slow gentle movement emerges. As the subtle energy rises to the heart, our hands and arms begin to move, as though making love with the space. After a while it ripens into a standing position and, in a continuous flow of elegance, our body moves spontaneously like incense smoke gently dancing in space.
The silent sitting that follows the ‘dance’ offers profound depth of silence, unfathomable sense of well-being. Tandava is both expansive and deeply grounding, as it invites us into non-separation of form and formlessness.
Guided Meditation: When the body is completely relaxed and open after the movement practice, we now explore our fundamental nature through guided meditation. Through her unique transmission, Sharon guides us to cultivate the felt sense of what we actually are. In this profound experiential process, we are invited to recognize the nature of Reality through the body and the subtle energies.
Approximate schedule for the evening: 1 hour Satsang; 1 hour Sacred Movement; followed by 30 minutes of guided meditation and silent sitting. Please wear comfortable clothing and arrive early to settle in. We will begin promptly at 6:30 pm.
Space is limited; please register in advance by returning the registration form below.
About Sharon Landrith: Sharon is a gifted intuitive and a spiritual teacher in the lineage of Adyashanti. As she can “read” the body, she is uniquely able to help unlock patterns in the body that inhibit the embodiment process. To learn more about Sharon, please visit www.sharonlandrith.com.

David Santangelo is a teacher, author and speaker who serves as a guide and fellow traveler in the fields of mysticism and personal development.
David has studied the healing arts and the path of Sufism at the Jaffe Institute, and has spent many hours sitting with Shaykh Sidi al-Jamalar-Rifa'i, the Guide of the Shadhdhuliyyah Sufi Path that was founded in the 13th century. He has worked in many capacities, as a journalist, day laborer, cafe owner sales person, and life coach. He is deeply committed to expressing the truths he’s received through his writing, speaking and teaching modalities. Currently David makes his home in Bend, Oregon, with his wife and two children. He has recently published a book entitled The Way Home. David also performs Music for the Soul, a two-hour experiential journey that marries the text's sacred and inspired words with chanting, meditation and live music performed by violinist Julie Southwell and percussionist Lucius Wheeler. The following piece of writing from Lucius' blog is offered to give a "taste" of this important work: There are few things more important in today’s world than supporting men as they grow into greater wholeness. As many have noted, the masculine has been out of balance in our world for centuries: waging wars, abusing and taking advantage of the feminine, living from force, living for greater power and for greater wealth rather than for greater love and unity... Men are seeking for new answers. Traditional roles of provider and breadwinner no longer fit. Who are we behind the veils? Who are we beneath customary roles and models? Each generation asks these questions, and seeks to find a more fulfilling, authentic role to play in this rapidly evolving world. | Spirit Warrior Teen Retreat:
